About Brussels
Brussels is conveniently located in the middle of Belgium and Europe, within sight of Brussels Airport. Belgium is a small country but the significance of its central geographical location between the most important countries in Western Europe needs to be highlighted. Brussels today is a political and commercial center and home of the European Commission and NATO. Despite of its small area, Belgium is a country of amazing variety: beach and polder over flat inland Flanders gives way to the wooded hills of the Ardennes. The cultural attractions are also a study in contrasts: the medieval trappings of Bruges, Antwerp, Ghent and Liège, the Ardennes castles, or the art nouveau architecture of Brussels.

Brussels, the capital of art nouveau, also boasts a jewel of gold and stone: the Grand-Place. It is an extraordinary ensemble of baroque facades, mostly dating from the 17th century. The most remarkable building is the 15th century Gothic City Hall. |
The Belgian cuisine is inseparable from the savoir vivre of a fun-loving people. Besides the famous Belgian chocolate, beer too is close to the nation’s heart: there are over 400 kinds and sampling them is a national pastime. Even the most demanding visitor will find something to his/her taste!
Brussels hosts interesting museums, displaying collections which are the envy of the world: from works by the greatest painters of the Courts of Europe such as Rubens and Rembrandt, to the iguanodons discovered by coal miners in the 19th century.
